Casa Bel Tempo Vacation Rental

Italian village life with all the quirks.

Come visit this lovingly restored historic home in Pieve di Teco. Check out my availability calendar and send a contact request below.

You could be here….

The rental is located on the second floor of a historic building on Piazza Cavour, in the center of Pieve di Teco. The building is hundreds of years old, but I renovated the apartment with the goal of highlighting the charm and beauty of the place while adding modern functionality and comfort.

There are two bedrooms that will comfortably sleep four. The primary bedroom has a queen sized bed, beautiful arched ceilings, a dressing room and a view of the piazza. The second bedroom has two twin beds with storage drawers below them and a view of the houses and hills behind Pieve di Teco. The bathroom is small, but all new, and contains the cutest, tiniest (and most impractical) bathtub you’ve ever seen.

The living area is comprised of the main room, entry and dining room/sunroom. The exposed stone and beams gave me a great structure to work with, but I have made it more cozy and personal with antique Persian carpets, a pellet stove, a leather sofa and original art from our favorite artists. The dining room is full of light from the west facing windows and the exposed brick on the arched ceilings is perhaps my feature part of the whole house. A candlelight dinner in that room is something I will never tire of.

The kitchen was completely gutted as part of the renovation so it is all new and so much fun to cook in. The pantry is fully stocked with cooking staples, beverages and a few treats too. There are marble countertops, a five burner gas range, and full assortment of high quality cookware, dishes and linens.

From the little front balcony and the larger back terrace you can keep an eye on all the small town happenings, just like a real Italian nonna. I furnished this home with the intention of living there myself, so I have put much care and thought into making it a comfortable and beautiful home. I hope you will love it as much as I do.

What is at the apartment?: Washing machine, wifi, dishwasher, air conditioning and much more. I live across the street and will do whatever I can to make your stay amazing.

Details: Cost is based on season and length of stay but will range from €90-130 per night with a cleaning fee of €75. I would love to personalize your stay with picnic lunches, wine tastings or specialty dinners if you so desire. Contact me using the form below for rates and booking.

Pieve di Teco and surrounding area

Pieve di Teco is a small medieval village in Liguria, Italy. Situated an hour and a half from both the Nice and Genoa airports it is a great base from which to explore the area. The village itself has a long and varied history as a trading destination between the Italian riviera and the mountains of Piedmont. The grand porticos lining the main street date back to the early 1200’s and speak to the importance of town in centuries past. There was also a history of shoemaking in the village and my daughter wanted me to mention that you might hear the ghosts of dead cobblers as you walk the streets at night. More likely, you will hear Italian TV through someone’s open window, old ladies gossiping, or friends singing together while someone plays the accordion (I’m not even making that up!). There is an antique market in town on the last Sunday of every month and everyone comes out to shop, eat and meet up with friends. It’s not to be missed.

The gorgeous terraced hills of Liguria are covered with olive orchards and vineyards with little villages dotting the landscape. The coastal towns of Imperia and Albenga are only a 20 minute drive away and offer a wide range of restaurants and things to do as well as gorgeous beaches. San Remo (45 minutes), Monaco (1 hour), Genoa and Nice provide a city experience that is an easy day trip.

Swim (sea or river), hike (mountains or beach), drive (motorcycle or car), eat (pesto! pasta!, cheese! fish! vegetables! olive oil!), drink (wine, coffee, Prosecco, sparkling water) shop (high fashion, thrifting, markets) and relax in the sun of the Ligurian countryside.
